Academy back in full swing
We are delighted to see so many young children register for our Academy which started back at the beginning of September. We'd also like to say a huge thanks to all the parents who have volunteered to help out with the weekly sessions - we couldn't run it without your help! There are still places available for children born 2017-2019 and you can register using this link. The Academy runs every Sunday from 09:50 (to get children set up into their different groups for a 10am kick-off!) to 11am. You can contact Paul Harrigan on 087 441 4488 or Roy O'Brien on 085 7651211 for more info.

MATCH REPORTS

Leixlip Utd 4 Bohemians 2.
A hard fought win for our lads against a very dogged opposition. Despite starting the game much on the front foot we fell behind after 15 minutes. We kept attacking and a cracker from 25 yards by Jesse had us on level terms at the interval. Fiacra Martin with a brilliant header had us in front early in the second half but Bohemians levelled matters midway through the half. Fiacra Martin finished off some good play by Jack Doran to put us ahead and Aaron McDonagh made the game safe with a tidy finish near the end. A good win against difficult opposition.

U16 B1 Phoenix 3-2 Leixlip
Hard defeat to take. Leixlip were 2-1 up with 20 minutes to go, after goals from David Ibrahim and Marti Jubert. We failed to put away some excellent chances to put the game away. Then two defensive errors in last 20 minutes led to a very soft peno and a free kick on the edge of our box, both of which were converted by Phoenix. Small margins but we just need to keep the concentration and communication for the full 80 minutes in the next game.

U16.2 DDSL: Leixlip 2 Baldoyle 1
First league game & the girls had the best of 1st half but no breakthrough - their keeper was busier & showed her quality. As can happen we conceded after the restart when Baldoyle worked it up the side & crossed to the back post. We responded quickly - Isabelle Mullarkey played Lucy Morris in on the break, Lucy burst through & beat their keeper with her left.

On the front now the girls kept it up. We’ve worked a bit on corners & the winner came when Cara Moriarty put one in hard & high on the keeper who bundled it into her own net. Baldoyle didn’t go down with out a fight but our girls held their ground.

Special thanks to Paula & the team in the club for all the work on the DDSL registrations for us. We really appreciate all the work you’ve done with the portal to make the game happen.

U13M Belvedere 2-4 Leixlip Utd
After losing 3-1 to Cherry Orchard last week it was important for us to win today. The boys were excellent for large parts of the game and would have won by a lot more with a bit of composure in the final 3rd. Although we were in complete control we gave Belvo an incentive to keep trying by missing so many chances and gifting them two soft goals. The lads saw the game out well and will hopefully take the momentum from winning into next week.

Leixlip 4-2 Railway Union.
First win in 15A today for this group. 3 well taken goals from Aiden Doyle (MOTM) had us 3 up at halftime. Railway came at us like a train in the second half and got it back to 3-2. Yellow cards were flying in a very competitive game. We had to defend an onslaught at the end but managed to break away and Darragh Linnane ended the fixture with a great finish from distance.
