It has been an unbelievable couple of days for the club with two league titles and a cup final win for our teams. Our under 12 and 14s both won their respective Leagues and on Friday night our 17B side brought home the Grehan cup after a hard fought win over Sacred Heart. The 17s require two more wins this week to to claim a league and Cup double. Certainly a great boost to all as we prepare for the biggest Mini Leagues we have ever had. Three days of the best football you will ever see and who knows, we might be watching the next Andrew Omobamidele, Nathan Collins or Luke Kehir in action. Roll on Friday.

Mt Merrion 0 – 3 Leixlip

The girls picked up right where they left off on Wednesday night, displaying utter dominance over Mt Merrion on their home turf and reaping the rewards with three well-deserved goals. The opening goal was a sight to behold as Cara Murphy executed a magnificent lob over the keeper, courtesy of an impeccable cross delivered by Laoise Boyce from the right flank. Niamh Looney contributed significantly to the scoreline by netting the second and third goals. Her tenacious effort to win the ball and make a penetrating run towards the goal was met with a composed finish into the bottom corner. The second goal showcased Keelin Mooney's vision and precision as she expertly played a through ball from the centre of midfield. Keelin has shown her versatility, now claiming expertise in three positions🤣 need to also acknowledge the remarkable performance of Lucy Gaynor, who exhibited unwavering determination to keep the opposing team at bay. She was truly outstanding, showcasing her defensive prowess while also actively contributing to the team's attacking manoeuvres. The win this morning has left us all in great form as we enter the last week and the mini leagues weekend!!

13B Ardmore rovers 2-3 leixlip United

Late KO in the sun and Ardmore were on it from the kick off . They scored in the first minute and went 2 up after 10. We finally started to play and zach fitzpatrick went close twice. We pulled one back after Ardmore cleared a free kick to the edge of the box and Ben kineavey volleyed it home. Leixlip equalised after a great through ball from senan moriarty found luke schuster who slotted home to make it level at half time.

2nd half was a tough battle but we got our 3rd after rian fahey played in senan moriarty to chip the keeper. Both teams had chances after with anil geaghan seeing his header from a corner scrambled off the line, Dan o'reilly had to make 2 great saves to keep us in front.

A good win against a big physical team who beat us at home.

U12C Sat Leixlip Utd 4 - 0 Sporting Greystones

Ended the season with a bang. The lads needed a positive result today to win the league. We got off to a great start when James Iredale launched a fine cross into the box to find Harry Walsh, who finished in style. The score remained the same up until half time. We came out strong again in the second half with James Iredale, causing numerous problems for Sporting down the right-hand side. Goals in quick succession from Aaron Becker and Ethan Morrison put the game to bed. A well-deserved goal for James Iredale made it 4 -0 in the end. This rounded off a great season for this exceptional group of lads. League Champions 🏆

U17 Grehan Cup Leixlip 2-1 Sacred Heart

Another close encounter between these 2 sides, we have become great rivals over the last couple of seasons and its always close (sometimes too close) we got off to the worst possible start with a messy OG off a defender following a save from Keeper Steve Adedeji 3 minutes in, but as the lads so often do, they dusted then selves off and worked to get back in the game, we equalised from a back post header by Kane O'Brien and then we took the lead following a rifled shot from the edge of the box from Finn Crehan and we lead 2-1 at half-time, second half was an all out battle with both teams giving everything, we defended resolutely and we left it all on the pitch.

3 league games to complete this week and 3 wins would give us the league title to go with the Cup, Super Super proud of this group , most have been with the club since Academy or just after which makes it all the sweeter to see the little kids they were turn into to great young men they are.

Cmon the hoops 🔴⚪🔴⚪🏆

Hi all, some great news from myself and the U14B coaching team. We managed a 6-1 win this evening taking first place in the division. There was a massive crowd there to support the boys, parents, coaches, their friends and players from the club. All the hard work has paid off JP, Stephen, Greg and myself put in to the team 🏆🏆(Photo above)

U13P Leixlip 0 Belvo 2

Great night for football on the Astro and our lads stepped up and we were right in the game first half that had nothing in it. It was still 0-0 at 45mins and a really speculative shot from edge of box took a deflection and wrong footed our keeper to put them 1 nil up. We pushed for an equaliser and created some opportunities one that lobbed the keeper and just went wide and another we overplayed on the edge of the box when we should have shot, the second was a sucker punch when we had an opportunity to clear from the edge of our box we didn’t and let the ball be nicked by their striker who finished to top corner. Lads put in a great shift exemplified by Dara Neville putting in two crunching challenges with 10 mins to go leading to a massive cheer from the crowd which as I said summed up the effort the lads gave but unfortunately we came up short again. 1 game left ⚽️

Reminder: AGM 14th of June at 7:30pm in the Coffee Shop
