U17B Cup Semi Final
Leixlip 3-3 Ballyoulster
Leixlip win 3-2 on Penalties.

Don't know where to start with this one, it wasn't our best performance by a longshot and we huffed and puffed at times. A very warm day was energy sapping for both sides, that being said we never went behind in this one, took the lead via a poachers goal from Nathan O'Connell but we let them in for an equaliser. We went 2 up following a well worked goal, assisted by Aji Adegboye and a cool finish from Josh Lee. We let them in early in the second half for their second equaliser from a corner, we then went 3-2 up with a second for Nathan O'Connell following some great work down the right from Adam Dagg. Unfortunately we couldn't see out the game and conceded a third equaliser in the final minute, both teams were tired in extra time but both had some chances, best of which fell to Luke Clark who forced a great save. No need to go through the names for the penalties as always the courage to take one is always what matters, but I will give a special mention to Steve Adedeji who saved 2 penalties to clinch it for Leixlip. We look forward to a cup final in May.

U12-8 Boys
Leixlip 4 - 1 Lakelands

A great win for the lads today in the heat. We were 3-0 up after 6 minutes with Evan Barton getting a 4 minute hat trick. Jakub Ferdynus got our 4th on the stroke of half time. We set up camp in Lakelands half for the second half but couldn't get the ball in the net. We conceded from a penalty but the heads never went down and we continued attacking right to the final whistle.

U12 Girls Div1
Portmarnock 2 - 2 Leixlip

Very exciting and competitive game for the girls out in portmarnock this morning. 2 well matched sides who will be fighting for top positions come the end of the season. We missed a couple of chances early on and we played on a smaller pitch which didn't suit us. Niamh Looney scored both our goals, disappointed leaving with a point as we played very well but we are in good form coming into the intensity of games at the end of the season

U15B Leixlip 2 Clontarf 1
What a glorious day for a game of ball on the senior pitch. Clontarf scored early on 10 mins in from a looping freekick into the top corner from just outside the box after a silly foul. Heads did not drop and great passage of play finished with Nathan Elliot equalising midway through first half with a well taken goal into bottom left after some excellent approach work from Dylan Hughes. In the 2nd half we got that early goal. Lovely freekick from Sean Lennon ended with a powerful header into the top right corner by Oisin Tallon. Our central midfield pair of Oisin Tallon and Sean Lennon continued to boss the midfield with great work rate. Shout out David Ibrahim (Captain) who made a number of excellent saves today especially in the 2nd half. Game management came to the fore towards the last 10 minutes and we saw out the game for a well deserved victory. Plenty of positives today and great to get the win. MOTM performance from Dylan Hughes on the wing today.

Leixlip U14B 6 - 2 St Mochtas
Blistering start saw us 3 nil up within 10 minutes. 2 goals from Aidan Doyle and 1 from skipper Eoghan Lyons. 1 more goal added by Cameron McCormish saw us in at the break 4-1 up. St Mochtas battled hard in the second half, crossing the line on a few occasions, resulting in 3 bookings for them. The lads held firm and added 2 more goals through Adam Abidoye in the second half. 6-2 the final score.  Great performance by all and MOM went to our CDM Oscar Butler.

U13 B1 Leixlip 9 Beechwood 2 (Photo above)
They scored first when we didn’t deal with a free kick.
From there we really showed up.
Senan equalised from the edge of the box, then put us in front after good feet in the box.
Zach then scored directly from a corner (not bad on the big Astro!)
The goals kept flowing as captain Max took it past the keeper then scored again from a one on one.
We didn’t let up in the second half with Liam finishing neatly in the box.
Senan got his hat-trick after setting himself on the edge of the box.
They pulled one back but that was it for them as Conor made some strong saves. At the end of a lovely move Aidan took a great position to score from close range.
Then Aidan turned provider, worked well & crossed for Senan to flick in one more.

17P Leixlip Utd 5 St.Kevins 1
An outstanding performance from this team who are really starting to gel together after a difficult spell. Alex Akindrintoyo was quite brilliant up front and finished with a well deserved hat trick. Romeo Nweke and Jason Rooney completed the scoring against the current league leaders.
