U12 Div1 Girls Leixlip 6 - 1 Tallaght Town
Great win for the girls today who were much too strong for Tallaght.
Flew out of the traps today and an early goal from Niamh Looney which set us on our way. Tallaght struggled with the pace and power of Leixlip and we had a comfortable 6 - 1 win. 3 from Niamh Looney, 2 from Sophie Murphy and 1 from Cara Murphy.
We made plenty of changes in the second half and Tallaght managed to beat our defence and get one back with a few minutes to go. All in all a super performance from Leixlip today.

U12C Belmont FC 2 - 3 Leixlip Utd
Another super result for the lads. We went 1 down and never dropped our heads. Tom Dolan converted a penalty midway through the first half won by jinky James Iredale. Just before the break, Tom smashed home a long-range effort to leave it 2-1 at half time. We went further ahead in the second when Evan Barton dribbled by two defenders to slot the ball home. Belmont got 1 back near the end to make it a nervous last few minutes. Man of the match was Tom Dolan

U11C Portmarnock 1-3 Leixlip Utd
A great result against a strong Portmarnock side. Daniel O'Shea gave us the lead inside 3 minutes after a good run from midfield and a neat chip over the keeper. We allowed Portmarnock back into the game after a poor back pass gave their centre forward a tap in. Chances came and went for us, but Eoghan Fahy fired in a superb free kick just before half time to put us back in front. Alan Maly scored a third late in the second half to seal a deserved win.

U14B Leixlip Utd 6-1 Hartstown Huntstown FC
The boys picked up from where they left off last week. Another excellent team performance in a physical, and at times scrappy game, against a spirited HH. Leixlip notched up 4 goals without reply in the first half. The breakthrough coming (yet again!) via Ryan Good followed by 2 clinical finishes from the prolific Aiden Doyle and then a smashing header from MOTM Darragh Linnane courtesy of a beautiful Paddy Corrigan cross. The 2nd half was a closer affair, HH hitting the crossbar and then the post. Moments later somehow managing to put a certain goal wide. Leixlip rode out the storm without too much drama and then cranked up the quality when it mattered. Aiden completed his hat trick and then the tireless Cameron McComish notching up a well deserved 6th.
Some things to work on for sure but the coaches were absolutely delighted with the boy’s attitude today. Bring on next Sat

U14 Major Leixlip Utd 3 - Peamount 3
Two strong teams faced each other today in a ding dong battle. Leixlip took the lead early on with an excellent finish from Fiachra. Peamount battled back and scored a goal on the break from the right hand side. Leixlip showed their resilience and scored from the tip off to go back in front from a strong shot from Paul on the wing. Leixlip had another great chance to go further ahead with another through ball from Aaron to Fiachra, but an excellent save by the Peamount keeper kept the score at 2 -1. Again Peamount broke against a Leixlip attack and scored their second goal after a parried save from Tom H. To level the score. Leixlip settled again and scored their 3rd after a good header from Finn and the follow up finish from Fiachra. The second half continued with both teams back and forth in attack and defence. Peamount leveled the score with an excellent free kick just outside the box which hit the top corner. Both teams continued to try and get the winner, but the game finished 3 - 3 in the end. Leixlip remain on an unbeaten run and continue to move up the league.

U13B Lucan 1 Leixlip 2
Game of the season for the lads. We recently beat league leaders Lucan in the cup & they came out very psychical. 2 or 3 of ours off from fouls & a card or two for Lucan brought us in level at half time. A big test came as Lucan took the lead from a deflection falling to them in the box.
Immediately we equalised with James McGee (back on from a knock) winning the ball, he passed to Aidan McConville who found Senan Moriarty and in turn he found Max Farnan for a great strike.
Lucan pushed, had good chances & plenty of corners.
As time ran out we won a free up by the left corner, Aidan McConville hit the crossbar & in the scramble that followed Zach Fitzpatrick was taken down.
Captain James McGee converted the penalty for the win.

Belvedere 3-1 Leixlip Utd.
There wasn’t much in the game with the only major difference being they took their chances and we didn’t.
We were 3-0 down at HT but lads kept going and Luked D scored a great goal when he raced on to a through ball and poked it expertly past the keeper. Last ditch tackles and good defending prevented us from creating more clear cut opportunities but the boys fought right to the end in search of a second goal.
It was a good battling performance from the team as a whole with some fine individual performances from Luke D, Charlie and Max to name a few. MOTM goes to Eoghan Ruane. He was full of energy, read the danger excellently and he was super strong in the tackle.

U13D Leixlip 0 Clondalkin Celtic 4
Score didn’t reflect the difference in the teams.
We had some great chances in the first half but the Clondalkin keeper made some point blank saves to keep the lads out.
Clondalkin scored all their goals in the second half but can’t fault the effort from the lads.
One of those days but we’ll go again next weekend.
