Ballyowen Celtic 1 Leixlip 4
Good result for the lads this morning against a team that beat us 2-1 in the first game of the season so great to see the improvement in them.
Played well from the start and put some really good football together at times.
Goals from Logan Finnegan, Patrick Kelly, Fearghal Moore and a cool bicycle kick from Ruvin Loka gave them a well deserved 3 points.

Greenhills 2-0 leixlip United
A hard one to take today as we played really well in the first half and created several gilt edged chances that we didn't take. Greenhills then scored from a misfit cross against the run of play. We kept going and had the ball in the net but the keeper pulled it back and the ref waved play on. Second half was a lot more even and Greenhills scored a second deflected goal after the referee missed another offside decision. Wasn't to be today, roll on some home games 📷📷
We were made to work hard for a deserved 3-1 win this morning. Down a couple of players this week, we welcomed back newly christened Otter and Seb from the Sunday team (both played very well). A Killegland free kick found the corner of the net in the first half despite a valiant effort by Freddie in goal. This was cancelled out in the second half by a spectacular free kick of our own from Ryan Goode. Paddy and Eoghan really upped the tempo and quality in midfield creating a host of chances. The goals finally came through Cameron first and then a supper solo effort from Adam. Great team performance from the 14 involved and no argument on the MOM Paddy Corrigan. Loudest player on the pitch and tormented Killlegland all day.
U13P Rovers 5 Leixlip 0
Disappointing final result as we were 0-0 at halftime and whilst they had lots of possession and had a couple of chances we were in it at halftime as we have been in so many games this season but like so many games when we gave away one it led to 2 & 3 straight after and that is what happened and when we had a couple of injuries they exploited the changes. We are hoping the run of home games can get us on a run as we only have 1 away league game left 📷 Grass pitch at roadstone was like a carpet to play on and I would love to be rovers where they can just strengthen teams at the drop of a hat so they had a particularly strong squad this week not that they are ever weak ! 📷
U12C Wayside Celtic 0 - 1 Leixlip Utd.
Great performance in very difficult conditions from the lads. Lucky to go in 0-0 at break, but goalkeeper Ryan O Neill pulled off some outstanding saves to keep us in the game. The second half was a different story. Lads were first to every ball and never gave up right until the end. With two minutes to go, we were awarded a free kick just outside the box. Tom Dolan stepped up and hit the bar with Ethan Morrison on hand to blast home. This team is improving every week, and we are still unbeaten in the league and remain top of the table.
U14 Major
Leixlip 5 Bohemians 2
Supper battling performance all round. Leixlip started well and hit Bohs on the break to go 1 up with an excellent finish by Fiachra as he rounded the keeper to slot home. Bohs battled back and with some good footwork slotted a shot into the bottom corner. An excellent save by Mark kept it at 1 - 1. We battled on and got our just rewards with a second from Fiachra. In the second half we continued to keep the pressure on and Fiachra got two more goals to put us 4 - 1 up. Credit to Bohs who kept battling and scored their second with 10 minutes to go. Leixlip dug deep and kept creating chances and got their just rewards with a great finish by Aaron. All round a supper team performance .

U11 C (Cup)
Rosemount Mulvey 0-6 Leixlip United
Great performance from the lads today. Tadhg Mallon opened the scoring with a well taken effort from the edge of the box early on and we were well on top after that. Sean Moran got the second with a great strike before Jack Power got the goal of the game to make it 3 after some great work on the wing from Daniel O'Shea. Eoghan Fahy made it 4 before half time. Sam Cribben tapped in the 5th from a Darragh kineavy corner before Eoghan Fahy completed the scoring in what was a brilliant team effort.
MGL U15B: Leixlip 2 Newbridge 0
Newbridge were just above us in the table in second place but our girls dominated the game. Sophie Dalton scored twice from fine strikes in the first half as the game was played in their half.
Newbridge tightened up a bit in the second but we could have had a couple more & our keeper had a quiet morning. Tegan, Stewart, John & I are really pleased with the progress the squad has made throughout the season as front to back they kept a good team out of the game.

Leixlip 2 - 1 Ballyhaise
Round of 32 in the National Trophy saw us welcome Ballyhaise Celtic to Leixlip. Hard fought game on a windy day saw Leixlip beat our Cavan opponents 2 goals to 1. We dominated position and should have put the game to bed quicker. A win is a win, into the last 16 we go with a trip to Cork where we play Passage in the next couple of weeks. Thanks to Dave Kelly for refereeing the match at the last minute.
U15 Div 2
Belmont FC 0 Leixlip 3
Great result today against the team immediately below us in the league. Belmont are a big physical side and started strongly but the lads played their way into the game and went ahead midway through the first half via a Daire Heavey penalty. We started the second half brightly, and Seba Callin finished from inside the box to put us two nil up shortly after the restart. Callin scored his second goal with 20 minutes to go with an excellent finish from the edge of the box. Belmont kept pressing forward but the lads defended really well to maintain a clean sheet.
