Match Reports

U14 Major Peamount 0 - Leixlip Utd 3
We started slowly but dug in and battled against good pressure by Peamount. In the 13th minute Finn won the ball and played a good through pass to Fiachra who had a strong run and cool finish. We continued to grow into the game with excellent intensity from all. In the 18th minute there was a great turn from Fiachra and a cool bottom corner finish to give us our just rewards.

Peamount kept playing and in the 33rd minute won a free kick and had an excellent shot on target but a super one handed save by Tom H and a defence clearance kept our clean sheet intact.

In the second half we continued to control the game with a strong work rate from all and an excellent defensive shape. In the 10th minute Tom B. won the ball back and played a good ball back inside to Finn, but an interception by  the Peamount defence which was again won back by Jay who played a through pass to Ryan who beat the full back to slot the ball into Fiachra who again finished superbly to get his hat trick .

This goal summed up our teamwork today with an all round strong performance, an excellent hat trick from Fiachra and another clean sheet.

U12C Drumcondra AFC 5 - Leixlip Utd 5
Great game in very tough conditions. Went 3 nil down in the first half. Came out in the second half and scored 5 goals. Very proud of the lads today, they never gave up and are still unbeaten this season.
Goals from Tom Dolan, Harry Walsh, Aaron Becker and two from Ahmed Osman.

U14B Celbridge 2-6 Leixlip.

Matches cancelled the previous 2 weeks so great to get back playing. We conceded first but grew into the game and got control in midfield through Ronan Hanley and our wide men Paddy Corrigan and Tom McManus.  Ryan Goode got us going with a worldy left foot free kick from 20 yards. Great team goal followed by MOM Cian Becker. 2-1 at the break. We dominated the second half with further goals from Ronan Silke x 2 and goals from Camron McCormish and Adam Abidoye. Austin will be back in charge next week with a National D License in his pocket.

U13D Bluebell 0 - Leixlip 3
Good win for the lads away this morning. Took a while to get going and went in at half time nil all. Much brighter second half from them and they played some really good football and battled really well. Goals from Fearghal Moore, Mark Shaker and Matthew Dempsey gave us a well deserved win in the end.

12P Mount Merrion 1 - Leixlip 4Again we started brightly and Ben Osmic almost got in on goal after 1 minute. Mount Merrion had a couple of half chances before we found the back of the net on 6mins. Aidas Katkauskas whipped a delightful corner to the back post and Ben knocked it home. On 24 mins Jacob Tolan-Harding played the ball to Ben who drove goalwards. Aidas made a selfless run that drew the defender away leaving space for Ben to attack. The keeper made a great save from Ben but he scrambled home the rebound. 3 minutes later Jacob burst forward and  was brought down just as he entered the box. Jacob dusted himself off before smashing the resulting penalty into the top corner to put us 3 nil up.
Mount Merrion started the 2nd half brightly and pulled a goal back after 10 mins. They continued to attack but we weathered the storm and broke a few times on the counter. Our 4th goal came with 10 minutes to play. Jacob pressed the keeper who kicked straight to Ben and he scored again to complete his hat trick.
Everyone one of the boys played their part. They put everything they had into the game and not one of them put a foot wrong.
