Reminder to stay safe on club grounds during the development of the new Astro
With the building of the new Astro ongoing at our club, parents are being asked to remind their children to take special care on club grounds for training or matches. Children are not permitted to gather at the club during the mid term break as it is a working building site with heavy machinery and equipment in use. Our pitches and cages are not to be used without the supervision of a coach or manager.

U12 Boys Sketchers Cup Leixlip Utd 2-5 St Joseph’s Boys.
Again we scored first as Liam Downey played Ben Osmic in after 90 seconds and he duly obliged. We created the better chances until we conceded a soft free kick on 17mins and a goal directly from it. The boys dropped their heads and stopped doing all the good things that had us on top. We conceded again on 25mins after losing possession from our throw-in. Only some good goalkeeping kept the HT score at 2-1. We regrouped at HT and got back to work. Although Joey’s were playing the better football, the start of 2nd half was even with both teams being denied by some great goalkeeping. On 44mins Joey’s broke down our right side and played the ball across the front of our box where it was driven low to our keepers right to make it 3-1. Full credit to the lads for sticking at it and we got our 2nd goal with 11 mins to play as Aidas played Ben in down our right channel and he scored again. As we chased the equaliser we got undone by a combination of great goalkeeping, misfortune and ball watching and fell 4-2 behind. With only 5 mins to go the lads were a bit leggy and we conceded again. It’s another week of the scoreline not being a true reflection of the performance we put it but there is very little room for error. Everyone put a great shift in but MOTM goes to Ben Osmic after his brace. He has 6 goals in the last 4games

SFAI Skechers Cup Boys U14s Leixlip Utd 5 - Castleknock 0.
Our lads were really up for this game against a good Castleknock Team.
From the start we were first to every ball and passed it around excellently. A great team performance by all with goals from Fiachra x 4 (another strong performance) and Ryan x 1. The lads kept the intensity up right to the end even from our substitutes and it was great to get a clean sheet and continue to push for more goals and see the hard work the lads are putting in at training paying off.
The ref's new nickname for Fiachra today was Porridge as he said he must have had loads for breakfast. Thanks to Robbie M for the help today.

SFAI Cup (2nd Rd) Leixlip 4 - 0 Howth Celtic
Started off strong and enjoyed good possession in the first half, 1st goal came from a good bit of skill and deft finish from outside the box from Daniel Pop, 2nd was coming and a good through ball by Daniel into Oisin Stokes path was finished well. 3rd was a bit fortuitous as a deflected shot came across from Tom McClusker looped over, giving the keeper no chance.

2nd half began quite well, and nice finish into the corner from Senan Linnane had us 4 up and cruising, but we let Howth come back into the game with some sloppy passing and some lads taking too much out the ball, resulting in some last ditch defending and we eventually gave away a penalty which was brilliantly saved by our Keeper Euan Guha. Within a few minutes we got a penalty which we missed to even out those stakes and the game fizzled out with us being called offside about 8 times which the lads need to learn from. Credit to Howth who kept going to the end and we'll wait to see who we get in the next round.

17P. Leixlip Utd 5 Greystones Utd 0.
A good win against a fairly limited opposition. The lads started brightly and after missing a few chances we went ahead after a good run and a shot from Alex Akindrintoyo rebounded from both goalposts before Romeo Nweke finished from about a yard. We continued to dominate in the second period and further goals from Abel Adam, Ryan Bujingo, Keegan Jennings and Joe Madukwe left us comfortable winners at the end.

U17B Leixlip 5-2 Ballyowen
We made hard work of this. We were super in the first half, using the ball well, applying pressure and it gave us a 3-0 lead with Goals from Taidgh Flanagan, Aji Adegboye and Adam Dagg. We started second pretty well and added 2 more 1 from Killian Egan followed by a second for Adam Dagg, from there on in though we lacked composure especially from set pieces and we let them in for a couple to make the match harder than it needed to be, but we got the 3 points and that's the main thing.
