U17B Sunday
Leixlip 4-0 Portmarnock
Dominant display from the lads, we never really looked in danger. A goal from Agi Adegboye gave us a nice platform to build on and we probably should have scored more in the 1st half but we went in 1-0. We started the second half as we finished the first - second half goals from Taidgh Flanagan, Adam Dagg and Rob Poaleti rounded off the scoring, a great start to the season.
MGL u17A Leixlip 6 Maynooth 1
Great win for the girls in a local derby. 2 goals from Jae Howard, 2 from Isabelle Braescu and goals from Aliana Buisman and Emily Lynch. They pulled one back late on. Really good performance with some well taken goals and the defence was solid throughout.
Belvedere 2-1 Leixlip U15.2.
Great performance and narrow loss today to last year's league winners who beat us 9 nil in the same fixture last year. Belvo went up 1 up early in the second half. Fionn Cronin equalised midway through the half with a great finish. Belvo scored the winning goal in injury time. Hard to take but lads were super today.
12 Premier 2-2 St Francis
Game started even enough but lads found themselves 2-0 down at half time. Second half was a completely different team, goals from Adam and Aidan made it 2-2 and lads could have gone on to win it.
U13Premier Leixlip 0 Shamrock Rovers 1.
First competitive 11 aside game for the lads on the senior pitch, a great performance if not the result the performance deserved. 0-0 at halftime and whilst Rovers had chances we had the best ones in first half we hit underside of the bar and it bounced out and another chance after their keeper spilled it was poked just wide. We had them rattled for a bit but they got a scrappy goal with 15 minutes to go and whilst we pushed and had chances to equalise it was not meant to be. The lads deserved a draw but that’s football - cannot fault the effort, every player put in a serious shift.
U14B vs Portmarnock 2-2
Constantly behind but chasing strong after a very early goal catching us asleep. A penalty for each team and a double save from Kyle Hutton kept it a draw. Goals from Paddy Corrigan and Oscar Butler.
