Leixlip 1-4 Larkview FC

Tough assignment against a team doing well in the division above, altough we lost 4-1 we were in the game for most of it but we gave away some soft goals and not clearing our lines. Noah Dagg scored a good goal to make it 1-2 , but we didn’t capitalise on this and some good wing play. The score probably doesn’t fully reflect the game we were still in it at 2-1 but a couple of soft free kicks into the box and loose defending in the last 15 mins cost us.

U13 Joe O'Leary Cup

Leixlip United 4 - 1 Finglas United

Leixlip United started off strong against a team that is only one of 2 teams in the division that they have lost to. They made a comfortable 2 goal lead for most of the first half until a mistake in the box from a corner made it 2-1 at half time. Strong defending kept the ball away from Leixlip United’s goal and the boys ended up creating many chances making 2 successful. The game ended up 4-1 to Leixlip United. Goals from Ronan Silke, Eoghan Lyons, and 2 from Cameron McComish.

Next Saturday Leixlip Utd will have two teams looking to win a place in the last 8 of the All Ireland cups under 15 and under 16. Andy Norris's under 15s take on Bellurgan Utd from Dundalk at 12:00. At 2pm Robbie Martin's under 16s take on Knocknacarra AFC from Galway in last 16 clash. Both games will be played on our astro pitch and both teams would be very grateful for all your support. It would be another historic occasion if we can get two teams into the last 8 of this competition so please drop up and support the boys.
