Under 18 Premier Girls Baldoyle 4 Leixlip United 2

A hard defeat to take today against the league leaders!! We went 1 nil up with a goal from Olivia Grange and then the referee gave them a very soft penalty. The girls dusted themselves down and deservedly re-took the lead through Abbie O Kelly but unfortunately we conceded 2 late goals. Delighted with the girls effort and we played some nice football too, hopefully the results will start coming soon👍👍

MGL u16B Skerries 4 Leixlip 6

Playing Skerries in the league today following a cup win there last week, the girls started well with Emily O'Boyle continuing her good recent goal scoring form to put us one up after 2 minutes. The game was turned on it's head, on what was a terrible surface and we struggled conceding 4, 2 before and 2 after half time. With 25 minutes left the girls got a goal back through Emily Lynch.. a flurry of goals followed with Jae Howard pulling another back and then equalising before Emily scored a great 5th goal with the outside of her boot and rounded off her hat trick to put us 6-4 ahead with about ten minutes left.

We were glad to get away with the points on what was a close tie on a difficult pitch.

U20s St Francis 3-4 Leixlip

Great performance by the lads today, couldn’t ask any more from them. We gave away a few silly goals that let them into it but delighted with the win. Francis are the leaders of the under 20 league and Leixlip have now beaten them twice in the league

SFAI Cup U15s Leixlip - Lakewood Athletic FC

Despite the horrible weather, spirits were high in the club following the u16s astonishing win in their SFAI Round of 32 match. Leixlip u15s got off to the ideal start in the first minute when a Craig Norris corner kick which was thought to be cleared by the Lakewood defense was smacked top left corner by Sean O Murchu. The half went on with both teams evenly matched and battling hard until just before the half time whistle when Arthur Faros Centenaro slotted the ball into the back of the net to score his first goal for the team. Lakewood started strong in the second half but couldn’t manage to breakdown the solid defense of Danny Kelly and Sean ‘Ferdinand’ Kayitsinga.

Another absolute screamer of a goal put the game back in Leixlip’s control when Craig Norris smashed the pass from full-back Ethan Tansey into the back of the net to make it three. Lakewood continued to battle hard despite the score line but were eventually put to rest when Sean ‘Ferdinand’ Kayitsinga wrapped up the game with a well deserved thundering header into the back of the net. The game was a perfect display of the hard work by the team and coaches Andy & Patsy to get them through to the final 16 in Ireland. Brilliant day for all of the club with both of the teams now through.

16P1 SFAI Cup. Leixlip Utd Ballyjamesduff AFC.

A great win for Leixlip who move into the last sixteen after an excellent performance against a battling opposition who gave everything.

So a historic day for the club as we have two teams into the draw for the last sixteen of the SFAI Cup for the first time.
