U17 Major Leixlip United 3 Ashbourne 3.
We started strong with Pratibha Singh finding Erin McGuinness who laid it off to Faye Kelly who charged on. Driving from the left Faye struck true as she has done so often for us. The lead didn’t last long as they scored following a corner. We were playing good football and took the lead, this time Lucy Morris advanced through the middle and found Faye who rounded the keeper and scored from the narrow angle. We conceded right after half time and it became end to end from there. Ashbourne took the lead from a ball over the top and we had to chase for the first time.
Daisy Healy’s speed on the right was so dangerous through out and her determination really counted when she was taken down in the box. Faye completed her hat trick with as good a penalty. Both teams had chances to win it but after the whistle the two teams were happy to have a good game and come away with something. Huge thanks to Daisy Healy, Erin McGuinness and Rebecca McCarthy from our U16s for helping us out.

U14.7 Boys Glasnevin 4 Leixlip United 4.
After a very tough season, the lads put in a performance to be proud of. We started really strongly against a Glasnevin side. We were caught offside repeatedly in the first half. We were the better team though and Eric Savin gave us a deserved lead. From their tip we won the ball back but were caught offside and they scored from the resulting free. To add to the excitement we worked the ball straight up the pitch and Ryan O'Neill won a penalty which he took and slotted home to regain the lead. We were on top for the rest of the half but went in 2-2 at half time. With a squad of 18 we made lots of changes. Glasnevin got 2 goals in the second half but our heads never dropped. In injury time we beat their offside trap and from a great cross Seán O'Reilly fired into the top corner to get us within one goal. We pressured them straight from their tip and won the ball back. Kealan Harpur made a great run into the box and was taken down. Eric Savin calmly slotted the penalty to give us a well earned draw. A super effort from every player.

U18 Major Boys Stella Maris 0 Leixlip United 4.

Local Schools Cup
On the 23rd May we held the David English cup for the boys from our local schools. We also held the Jody O'Reilly cup for the girls from our local schools. After a really exciting competition the girls from Scoil San Carlo won the cup after a penalty shoot out against Scoil Bhride. The David English cup was also won after a penalty shoot out by Scoil Mhuire. A great competition with close games all day and congratulations to the winners.
