U12.5 Girls Leixlip United 2 Liffeybank FC 2.
A fantastic performance from the entire team in a hard-fought 2-2 draw against Liffeybank FC. The girls showed great teamwork and determination, with the newer players stepping up brilliantly. Olivia Burke was solid in defence, showing great determination, while Shayna Nolan brought an aggressive edge to the midfield. Ruby Dalton put in an outstanding display, earning her the well deserved Player of the Match. Liffeybank opened the scoring, but Amelya Quinn equalised shortly after with a great finish. Early in the second half, Lucy Jordan put us ahead with a well taken goal. Unfortunately, Liffeybank found an equaliser from a corner late in the match. A solid team effort and plenty of positives to take forward into the next game.

Another tough day where we didn't find our best form against a really decent opposition. Despite being under some early pressure we went ahead after a good move down the right and from David Walsh's precise cross Aaron McDonagh headed home. Alas two soft goals in quick succession had us behind and when we gifted them the third goal we had really made things hard for ourselves. Second half we continued to battle away without much joy and more sloppy play let Joe's in for their fourth goal near the end. Still plenty to play for but we will need to raise our levels in the coming weeks.

We were thrilled to have a comprehensive win against a team we had a draw with in early Autumn. Abby Hudson won the ball just inside our half and then found Sophie Dalton wide who crossed for Leah Briody to finish. Not long after Emma Murphy put Faye in and Fayeโs shot was too much for the keeper. Just before half time Grace Kelly drove up the right and scored in the top corner for a peach punching the air before it hit the ground. Well deserved 3-0 at the break. Emma clocked a second assist with a corner that a determined Sophie bundled in. Great team performance with some girls playing different roles and special mention to Sarah Small who had a wonderful game at centre back.
U17.1 Boys Cup Leixlip United 0 Broadford Rovers 2 AET.
A really hard loss against the league leaders. We had 14 lads and ended up with only 11 after three injuries forced the L ads off the pitch. Broadford had beaten us easily in the league on two occasions, but Leixlip put in a shift and a half today. All 14 lads were excellent and really put everything into what was a really even contest. The game was end to end and it finished 0-0 at full time. A very rare defensive lapse in the first half of extra time gave Broadford a penalty that they converted. They then caught Leixlip on the break as we pushed for an equaliser. A really tough loss to take after such an effort but the lads were superb and should hold their heads up high after this one despite the result.
