U11 Paul Fitzgerald Cup St Kevins 0 Leixlip United 2.
Our U11.1 Boys took on a very strong Kevins team at a 9am start. The early start didn't seem to affect either team with end to end football and chances for both teams. Leixlip took the lead midway through the first half when Bowe Kelly's corner was turned in at the near post by Dylan Tighe. We had a number of great chances in the 2second half but just couldn't finish. The win was sealed with 5 minutes to go when Ollie Dagg Moran intercepted on the halfway line, drove forward and struck from 20 yards with his weaker right foot. Man of the match was Evan O'Sullivan but a special mention to Dylan Tighe who was huge for us filling in at centre back with 3 of our regular defenders missing. A massive effort from all the boys to progress to the next round.

U14-7 Boys Leixlip United 2 Ballyowen 4.
In the first half both teams had lots of chances with Leixlip playing better football but just not getting to the ball first. Ballyowen played very direct football and took the lead with a goal from a long ball we didn't cut out. Eric Savin got our equaliser 10 minutes later with a close range after a nice passage of play. Ballyowen got their second just before half time. We were slow out of the blocks in the second half and Ballyowen got 2 quick goals to go 4-1 up. The lads then battled and we got our second through a nice strike from Ryan O'Neill. We battled hard but wasn't our day.

U17 Major Girls Leixlip United 1 Larkview 1.
We played particularly well in the first half, some of our best football of the season against a team that beat us last time.
We scored from pressure off a looping Abby Hudson throw, the ball fell to Cara Moriarty to take the early lead. The girls stretched the play well and deserved more but Larkview weathered it a lot of pressure. Just before half time they scored from a counter. Larkview’s keeper and back four bailed them out a good few times as we created plenty of chances but we just couldn’t finish it.

U17s Boys Div 1/2 League cup Dingle 1 Leixlip United 3.
Great result today. We were missing 6 lads and playing the team flying high in the division above us. Dingle went 1 nil up early in the game but lads didn't panic and began to get a foothold in the game. James Gaynor equalised after 60 minutes lobbing the keeper after a great through ball from James Monaghan. Oscar Corcoran put Leixlip 2-1 up a few minutes later with a great finish from the edge of the box. Dingle pressed hard for an equaliser but a poor Dingle kick out was punished by Sam Bacon on 80 minutes when he rounded a defender and the keeper to finish in the top corner. Lads defended well against late Dingle pressure to put us into the next round.

U14 Premier Boys SFAI Trophy last 32 Cregmore Claregalway 0 Leixlip United 3.
Adam Rafferty , Daniel Lyons and Ben Osmic all on the scoresheet. Great game into the next round.

U18 Major Boys Glebe North 2 Leixlip United 3.
A huge 3 points for us against a really strong Glebe side. We started very well and scored a well worked goal through Luke Cowzer. Some neat possession by our back 4 and our midfield seen Luke slipped in on the wing his speed got him passed the last defender before slotting the ball into the keepers far corner. We then conceded 2 soft goals the first a free header by the Glebe no16 and the second a long distance shot by the busy and tricky Glebe no7 that caught Callum Byrne off his line. 2-1 half time. Second half seen a little more urgency by our lads keeping the ball better and winning our little battles, then in the 10th min of the second half we suffered a big blow when we where reduced to 10 men. We had to reshuffle the pack and try contain the pressure from a Glebe side. Our lads kept their heads and didn't panic and with 5 minutes to go we reshuffled the team again going 3-3-3 formation and our pressure paid off when Dylan Horan popped up for an equaliser after some clever work by Tom McCormack and Hamza Rafar. The boys smelled victory now and instead of reverting back to a defensive formation we kept the attackers on and with the last kick of the game Oisin Larkin popped up at the back post for a winner after really good work by Hamza Rafar Jamie Cassells and Stephen Price.

U15 Boys SFAI Cup Round of 32  Moyne Villa 1 Leixlip United 2.
A long away trip to Galway but the day couldn’t have gone much better, we were down a couple of players and playing a team top of Galway premier but our lads started like a train. We should’ve been 2 up after 10 minutes with some great in swing corners from Oisin Kelly and we headed over from 6 yards out from one and Moyne cleared from a scramble at another, then Daniel Bradley shot just over from 20 yards and Nathan Byrne shot just wide from a tight angle, finally the pressure paid and another corner from Oisin Kelly eventually fell to Dany Pop at the back post and he finished left footed high into the net. We kept the pressure on but then a soft free and from it we failed to clear our lines and their striker finished in the box 1-1 halftime. We asked the lads to lift it again and they did and second half we pushed and pushed with no joy and then a key 5 mins when Finn Heffernan made a super save from the Moyne striker. Dany Pop picked up a throw on the left cut inside and sent a screamer into the top corner right footed bedlam 2-1. We had 10 minutes plus injury time and the lads saw it out really well. Moyne were really excellent hosts so I must mention that and also a big thanks to the club and Paul Martin for the support, a McDonald’s on the way home was the highlight for some. Last 16 now and we are in real bonus territory but if the lads can play with that intensity and we get our full squad back we will give anyone a game.

U16.4 Boys Broadford Rovers 3 Leixlip United 4.
Cracking match with Leixlip deservedly avenging a 0-3 defeat from earlier in the season. Leixlip started fast dominating the early play. Several chances went a begging before Gabby Floroiu put his stamp on the game with a stupendous long range lob. Further opportunities to extend the lead were not taken. A bad injury to a brave Benj Stoneham following a 50-50 tackle meant a forced substitution and re-jig of Leixlip’s defence. Rovers came alive in the disruption and levelled before Ronan Hanly returned Leixlip’s lead with a precise finish from the right after neat interplay. 1-2 halftime. Rovers came out strong in the 2nd half matching Leixlip for effort and attitude. It was end to end stuff now with both teams going close. Posts and crossbars being hit and last ditch keeper saves. Rovers got the break drawing level before taking the lead for the first time. Leixlip were not done. Man of the match Ronan Hanly equalising for his 2nd before putting Gabby through for his own double and Leixlip’s fourth. Despite some late drama defending corners and free kicks this proved to be the winner. A stand out team performance.

U17 Boys Major/Major 1 Cup Howth Celtic 0 Leixlip United 2.
Away to the league leaders in the 1st round of the cup and without any goalkeeper we thought it could be a really tough day however the lads put Howth to the sword in the first half. A well worked Lewis Kelly goal kicked us off beating 2 players and showing great composure in his finish. The second goal comes from a Lewis Kelly powerful strike in which the Howth keeper parried out, Cian Dolan was quickest to react with a tidy finish. Second half we defended well with Cillian Murphy and Aaron Reilly two rocks in the heart of the defence and kept the ball moving well to see the game out, with Omar Al Sahaf keeping us ticking over in the midfield. Big thanks to Aaron Lee our midfielder who hopped in goal today and didn't look out of place. He was a calm presence in the goal for someone who doesn't play there. Into the next round.

U16 Premier Boys  SFAI Cup Leixlip United 7 Tramore AFC 0.
A great result for our lads against, despite the scoreline, dogged opponents. Prince Heaven Jagha opened the scoring when scoring into the corner of the net after a mazy run pass a posse of defenders. Aaron McDonagh got the first of his double when shooting home off the upright. Jesse Cabral fired home the third after beating 3 defenders inside the box before Aaron slotted home the fourth just on the break. Tramore came out strong early in the second half but some good defending and a couple of good stops from Tom Harrington kept our clean sheet. A good run by Ryan Good led to the fifth goal when his shot was well saved by the keeper but Jack Doran was on hand to knock home the rebound. Further goals from Fiacra Martin and Jamie Flood saw us into the last sixteen of the competition.
