U14-7 Boys St Pauls Artane 2 Leixlip United 2.
We had a minute's silence before the game on Saturday for Billy Corscadden (Liam's dad, Will's grandad). Our thoughts are with Liam, Will and the Corscadden family. RIP Billy. The lads started the game at full tilt and were rewarded with a 3rd minute goal from Seme Mohibbi. Leixlip were in control of the game and Eric Savin got our second after 26 minutes. Then Seán O'Reilly had the ball in the net only for it to be ruled offside. Right on the stroke of half time St Pauls got their first to make it 2-1. This turned the momentum in their favour, and St Pauls started better in the second half. They were rewarded with an early equalizer. Both teams had chances after this but didn't take them. It was another strong performance from the lads, and they were disappointed they didn't get the win. Shout out to Ryan O'Neill for going in goals today and doing really well.

A good win against decent opposition who play some really nice football. After a very cagey first half Leixlip went ahead just before the break when Jamie Flood's free kick was only parried away by the keeper and Jessie Cabral knocked in the rebound. Leixlip largely controlled the second half but out of nothing Mount equalized when their striker seemed to knock the ball out of our keeper's hands and scored. We rallied again and Jack Doran scored from close range. Fiacra Martin was fouled in the box and he got up and slotted home the penalty. A good win and we move on to next week.
U17 Major Girls Ashbourne 5 Leixlip United 2.
Really happy with the football we played in the first half. Leixlip created lots and were a much the better team. Ashbourne scored opportunistically & against the run of play. Leixlip equalized when a blocked shot fell to Cara Moriarty on the edge of the box. Ashbourne followed up with an excellent goal and we went in 2-1 down. Ashbourne played well in the second half and again put their chances away & we faded out a bit. Isabelle Mullarkey scored a late header from a great Emma Murphy corner.

A real end-to-end game against the league leaders. Started off stronger team first 20 minutes but fell behind with 2 goals conceded before half time. Ball over of the top and caught each time. Start of the second half we had 3 early chances to get into the game but we just couldn’t finish and was denied by their keeper one v one. A lifeline came soon after where their keeper sent off after hand ball denying one v one. Within minutes through ball from Dara Neville and Krystian Ivanov finished under their keeper. However, we failed to kick on and 2 goals in quick succession finished the game off after our defence failed to clear lines. Consolation last minute finish from Luke Schuster. We go again next week.

A brilliant result against the team third in the league. Our lads were on it from the first whistle and we took the lead mid-way through the first half. A Hayden Wynne cross in to the box led to a mix-up between the keeper and centre back and Ollie Newport was on hand to poke the ball in. Ollie got a second a few minutes later when Nicholas Gajovic played him in and he finished brilliantly. Leixlip restricted Leicester to a couple of long range efforts and killed the game off in the second half when Tadhg Mallon put Ollie through and his shot was parried by the keeper and Alan Maly was there to tap it in. Three league wins in a row so hopefully we can continue in this form for the second half of the season.

Top of table clash at home but we never got going in a real stop start game that had no flow. Leixlip went 1 nil down from a penalty that was awarded for a handball against our player jumping in the wall at a free kick. We still created chances and had a couple of headers. 1 nil down at half time we told the lads they had to lift it and in fairness it improved but still we couldn’t break them down. Senan Moriarty hit the bar and despite many half chances we couldn’t get an equalizer. Ballyoulster were content to sit in and hit us over the top. On to next week.
