U15 Boys Leixlip United 2 Lucan 1 SFAI CUP 1st Round.
A local derby against a team top of the division below us. We started slowly letting Lucan’s extra energy and desire get on top of us and they went into the lead after 15mins when we failed to close down their midfielder from a throw and when the ball bounced centrally he hit a cracking half volley just high enough to beat our keeper from 30 yards. The lads didn’t panic and 10 mins later we were back in it when Brian Whitney picked the ball up 30 yards out and he hit his now trademark low powerful strike to the bottom corner through a field of bodies. Second half we huffed and puffed but we lacked the quality and desire to win it in normal time but after a scoreless first half of extra time it clicked and the lads drove Lucan back and a quality move down the left side when Daniel Bradley combined with Nathan Byrne and Daniel then pulled the ball back from the end line and Nathan’s first time shot was too powerful for the keeper. Last 7 mins we held out really well and could have got another one.

U15.1 Boys Leixlip United 0-3 Glasnevin.
Tight game despite the scoreline, first half both teams cancelled each other out. Both teams had a couple of half chances but no goals at halftime. 2nd half we created more and from a Leixlip corner we missed a great chance and Glasnevin broke up the other end and scored. We created a couple more half chances but conceded 2 more on the break.

Sat U14.2 Boys Corduff 1 Leixlip United 4.
Leixlip faced the unbeaten league leaders Corduff FC. The home team started strong, converting from the penalty spot. Leixlip then settled into the game and got to grips with the physical nature of the home team. Tom Dolan equalised shortly after the restart, with a confident finish, latching on to a through ball from central midfielder Jack Dooley. James Iredale made it 2-1 shortly after, converting from a parried save off the Corduff goal keeper. This followed a Josh Brooks rifling free kick from 30 yards. Leixlip made it 3-1 on the 30th minute, Josh Brooks again involved. He bravely headed home from a corner, out jumping the imposing Corduff center back. The second half was a more tense affair, with Corduff pushing for a goal. Ben Donnley, the Leixlip goalkeeper made some excellent saves repelling Corduff attacks. It wasn't until the last 10 minutes Leixlip regained control of the game. Conor Tighe slotting home for a 4th. A welcome goal after coming back from a long term injury. A impressive win against one of the  strongest teams in the league. Well done to all involved.

U16.4 Boys Leixlip United 0 Broadford Rovers 3.
Entertaining game in windy conditions but ultimately a disappointing result after being idle for the last couple of weeks. The two teams got stuck in right from kick off. Evenly matched with some great individual battles. First goal was going to be important. Decent opportunities both ends, with Leixlip arguably shading it, but it was Rovers who made theirs count. 0-1 at halftime. Second half much the same pattern. End to end play, each team making the opposition goalie work. With the clock against us the boys had to push for an equaliser. Agonisingly, hitting the post and forcing some fine saves but it left us vulnerable. Rovers sneaking 2 further goals in counter attacks. While the final scoreline may flatter Rovers a bit they were deserved winners today.

U17 Boys Leixlip United 3-5 St Itas Prem FAI U17s Cup 1st round.
We didn't start the game well today, 1st half St Itas were the better side but we still went 1 up from Lewis, conceded a free on the 18 yard line which they scored, then a penalty 3 mins later right before half time to leave is trailing 2-1 at halftime, and half we score an OG within 5 mins and was looking like a bad day, but credit to the lads and subs, they pushed and got it back to 3-3 with goals from Mark and Lewis and Leixlip in the ascendancy. Itas then scored to make it 4-3. We almost scored when Lewis hit the post, and with the ball going across the line, we weren't aggressive on the follow in and allowed them to clear. As we pushed we got caught on the break to conceded the 5th, game finished with us down to 9 men with injuries.

U18 Major Boys Tallaght town 2-4 Leixlip United.
Leixlip started well getting on the ball with some lovely 1-2 touch football and took the lead with 20 mins on the clock. Centre half Dylan Horan picked up a long clearance from the Tallaght keeper and advanced forward beating 2 players before chipping the ball over the keeper from roughly 35 yards. 1-0. We started to control the play now but Tallaght caught us napping in the 45th minute and scored at half time it was1-1. After the restart we got our passing game going again and with a devastating 5 mins we went 4-1 up and pretty much wrapped up the points. The 1st coming from a Luke Ó Connor header after a cracking back post cross from Luke Cowzer the next from the opposite wing an inch perfect cross from Jamie Cassells into Hammo who took it on his knee beat his defender inside then outside and from the tightest of angles finished into the far bottom corner. The last from Luke Ó Connor for his 2nd of the match. From the tip off the Leixlip front 3 pressed hard and the ball fell to Luke who beat 1 then 2 then 3 and from 25 yards curled the ball into the top right corner. Leixlip where now very comfortable but conceded a late goal from a back post header. 3 wins from 4 league games leave us on 9pts from 12 and joint top in what is a very competitive Major league. Special mention to keeper Cillian Gamble who stepped up from the u17.2 team and had a stormer of a game. Thanks also to the coaches of that same u17s for allowing him out with us.

U16 Boys Ballymun Utd 1 Leixlip Utd 4 U16 Premier SFAI Cup.
Two first half goals from Fiacra Martin had us in front in the half but the concession of a goal direct from a corner kick had the score 2-1 at half time. Further goals from Prince Jagha and Fiacra to complete his hat trick were enough for the win.

U13 Boys Home Farm 1 v 4 Leixlip United U13 Prem SFAI Cup.
Great performance by the lads total controlled the game, despite being down to the bear bones today. We started the game with only 12 players due to one player pulling up in warm up, and three others currently out injured. Goals scored by Ryan Keegan 2, and Evan Gill 2.  M. O. M was Stefan Gasan in Centre Midfield, who Controlled the game from start to finish.

U13s Major Boys Leixlip United 3 Ashbourne 2.
A great performance against one of the top teams in the league. We started the game really well but conceded against the run of play after a quick counterattack. Five minutes later, we got a bit of luck when pressing the opposition and forcing a pass back to their keeper under pressure, which resulted in an OG. Just before half time, Daniel O' Shea scored a stunning volley from the edge of the box to give Leixlip the lead. Ashbourne scored midway through the 2nd half to level the game at 2 all. As our lads tired towards the end, Ashbourne started to dominate possession, but we were always a threat on the break. With less than 5 mins to go, we won a free kick in a dangerous position, which resulted in a goal mouth scramble and Jacob Megihan poked the ball home to seal the three points for Leixlip.
