U16 premier Boys Leixlip United 3 St Ita's 3.
Another strange game. We started really well and deserved to go in front when a speculative shot from Aaron McDonagh ended up in the back of the net. We continued to control matters when a contentious penalty was awarded to Ita's and they equalised. We lost our rhythm and Ita's went in front before the break. Some sloppy defending by us presented Ita's with a third goal but we continued to press forward and create chances. Tom Byrne came on and pulled one back and then finished beautifully to make it 3-3 . Probably a fair result in the end but we had the  chances to take all 3 points.

U14.3 Girls Swords Manor FC 1 Leixlip United 2.
Tough game in the end after not taking our chances in the first half. Only went in 1 up after squandering some big chances. Got the second early in the second half but a mistake let them back in it. Held on with a nervy last 10 mins. Both goals from Ellie O Shea.

U17.2 Boys  Leixlip United 6-2 Cabinteely.
Good result today against a struggling Cabinteely team. Lads took an early lead though a header from Leon McDonnell. Cabinteely equalised on 10 minutes but Leixlip dominated from there, just getting a little complacent at the end to let Cabinteely score a second. Goals from Leon McDonnellx2, Darren Mooneyx2, Colm McCreanor and a super solo effort from Sam Bacon. Tougher challenges ahead but nice to get the win.

U14 Div 7 Boys Kilnamanagh 2 - 0 Leixlip United.
Kilnamanagh could have had 8 today, they hit the woodwork 4 times and Will saved us on multiple occasions with some super saves. They were a very tough outfit that pushed us around too easily. We were 2-0 down after 25 minutes but showed good character to not concede again. Our fitness came through, we pushed them hard in the last 10 minutes and had them on the back foot and started to match them physically. 15 disappointed lads when the final whistle blew who I'm sure will learn and build on today's performance.

U18s major Boys Leixlip United 4-3 Lucan.
Pretty much a game of 2 half's and a typical derby game. Leixlip started a little slow not able to keep ball and being sloppy. But after about 10mins settled down and started to knock the ball around. Goals from Jamie Cassells Hamza Rafar and a peno from Stephen Price gave Leixlip a commanding and we'll deserved half time lead of 4-1. Second half now and the urgency and slick football seemed to go away from our game and the sloppyness seemed to favour the opposition and the pulled 2 goals back. Our lads where starting to get tired but held out in the end for a well deserved 3 points. 2 wins from 3 from this new team of players and they'll only get better.

U16 Girls Leicester Celtic 0-1 Leixlip United.
Truly a really tough match with both weather and opponents, but the girls were up for the challenge with full hearts & enthusiasm. All the hard work meant they got the required result, with great passing & team work to end first half with a great goal from Erin. Team work continued into the second half where the defence held strong to keep the lead & finish with the 1-0 advantage.

17s Major Leixlip 6-6 Lourdes.
Conceded after 30 seconds 4 penos in the game, conceded peno last kick of game to make it 6-6. Scary thing is it could have been 12-12 game for the nuturals.

U15M Boys Collinstown 1 Leixlip 1.
A proper welcome to major game with a big physical side vocal sideline, massive wind and bumpy pitch. They had wind first half and used it to their strength of long balls and had us under pressure at the back so we conceded with 20 gone after turning ball over in the wrong position letting a cross in to center forward who finished well. After that we were the better side played better football but didn’t get our reward until 15 mins from time when Daniel Bradley swivelled in the box and his left footed shot took a slight deflection but went in. We piled pressure on they couldn’t get out and on another day we get a pen or score from a corner just missing a header. Happy with the fight the lads showed just need to cut out the silly turnovers but we will take the point and move on to next week.

U17 Major Girls Leixlip 6 Knocklyon 2.
We raced to a lead, Cara Moriarty setting up captain Faye Kelly, then Grace Kelly assisting Sophie Dalton. Next Faye turned provider to assist Sophie. It was then that Knocklyon came back into it - they were unbeaten last season and had 2 wins from 2 so far. They scored 2 in the minutes before half time to change how everything looked. We needed to reassert after the break and did so in style - Cara’s corner was headed cleanly by Sophie who out jumped everyone to leave the keeper no chance. The girls kept going, Cara’s free kick rattled the cross bar and soon after Lucy Morris played in Faye who shouldered her defender aside and finished neatly. Faye then joined Sophie on a hattrick with another nicely taken goal.
