U13M Jimmy Flood Cup Leixlip United 0-2 Belvedere
After scoring 8 in our two league games against Belvo we didn’t expect to end goalless today. We missed several good chances in the opening 15 minutes which seemed to energise them and they started to contest every ball like their lives depended upon it. Although we were solid defensively we got undone by 2 free kicks and found ourselves 2 down at halftime. We kept trying to impose our game and felt the tide had turned when we won a peno with 10 minutes to go. As the effort went wide of the post we knew it wasn’t going to be our day. Several more chances went-a-begging before the referee blew for full time. We look to get back on track next week when we visit AGP in the league.

15M. St Joseph's 0 Leixlip Utd 1
On an absolutely awful pitch we were delighted to claim the three points. A first half goal by Fiacra Martin proved enough to get the win. Second half we were much better but a catalogue of missed chances meant we were sweating right until the end. A big week ahead preparing for our
last 32 clash with Aisling Annacoty on Saturday next.

U14P Finglas Celtic 4 Leixlip 2
After a great win last week we knew we were in for a battle and when we saw Finglas roll out the monster squad we knew it was going to be a long day on a terrible pitch, one lad had a beard and looked about 20! Anyway we started slow as the early start had lads asleep to begin with and Finglas went 1 up after 5 mins cracking a cross and the midfielder hit a brilliant volley off underside of the bar. After 10 mins we gave away a soft free on the edge of the box and the ball was played in but the striker was a good 2 yards offside but no whistle 2 nil. Lads responded unbelievably we had a stone wall pen claim turned down and then a brilliant move from back to front led to Oisin stokes cross and Daniel Bradley header 2-1. After that we dominated the half and a great thru ball led to Michael Cavanagh being fouled in the box and Daniel Bradley slotted home the pen game on 2-2. We had 2 or 3 more good chances but in the second half they were just better and wanted it more and with 15 to go a cross again and loose marking let a midfielder take a touch and have time to finish 3-2 and in injury time as we pushed they get a 4th from a missed tackle in the box. Disappointing but a really tough place to go, the lads got a little distracted by the horse going up and down the road as we kicked off!

U13 Girls Div 1 Leixlip 1 - 3 Peamount
A really tough game today against a very good footballing side. We shared 2 goals in the first half and there was nothing in it really, Peamount were first on the score sheet and minutes later Niamh Looney equalised with a super finish assisted by Sophie Murphy. Peamount got 2 goals in the second half catching us on the break. We don't play teams at that level every week but neither do they, so it is a real eye-opener for the girls of what they need to do to win games against top opposition. They did well, at that level it's small margins.

U13 Boys Sun 7 Cup Palmerstown 4 - 1 Leixlip
Haven't done a match report in a long time as the league isn't going great. Today we were up against a team 2 divisions above us and I wasn't looking forward to it. Fair play to the boys they really galvanised and put in a great shift. With a huge wind behind us, we led 1-0 at halftime playing some of the best ball we've played all year. In the second half Palmerstown were pinging our goal every chance they got. They got 1 screamer and another I'm sure that didn't cross the line. Hoping we can build on the performance and bring it to the league. Goal from Setempi.

Under 16s Major Boys Mount Merrion 3-6 Leixlip
After a cracking 4-1 win away to Larkview, we came away from Mount Merrion with another great win, granted we made it hard at times and the wind played havoc throughout, but we took 3-1 lead into HT with goals from Daire, Aaron lee and Kaylum. 2nd half was as wild as the first, we went and made it 4-1, then quickly Mount Merrion made it 4-2, 5 mins later we went 5-2 up, only to concede again to make it 5-3. Shortly after we get the 6th and that ends the game, great performance, shout out to Tom Harrington off the Under 15s major side helping us and putting in a solid performance, 10 goals in last 2 games and 2 good results.

Girls Section
We had some other good results from our girls section. Both the 10.1 and 10.3 teams won their respective games 5-1 and 3-2. The under 12 girls won 4-2 and our 13.3 girls won 2-1 against Knocklyon Utd. The 18 Premier side drew 2-2 with St Kevin's but our senior Leinster Senior League team went down 2-1 to a good Dublin University side. Our U16s played Maynooth in a friendly and won 4 - 3.
