Girls U/10 Div 1 Portmarnock 0-4 Leixlip Utd (Photo Above)
A really good performance by the girls this morning. We were on top from the first whistle and went ahead through Leah O’Shea after she skipped by two tackles and shot high into the net inside 10 minutes. We continued to create chances and got a second when Cara Mullen put Lucy Murphy through and she finished well. The goal of the game came just before half time when Lucy Murphy picked up the ball on the left, got past a couple of defenders, and chipped the ball over the advancing goalkeeper. The second half was much tighter, but we added a fourth from Emily Rose Murphy when she picked up the ball outside the box and fired it into the bottom corner. We could have added a few more but we are delighted with a well deserved win.
15M Home Farm 1 Leixlip Utd 5.
A welcome three points after last week's disappointment. In a bright start to the game we went close on a number of occasions, striking the post twice. With their first shot on target Home Farm went in front. We continued to dominate and Aaron McDonagh fired home the equaliser before half time. We had total control in the second period but once again chances came and went. Finally Fiacra Martin after some good build up put us in front. Aidan Doyle got the two goals his performance deserved and right at the end Sam Brooks showed some really nice footwork before slotting home number 5. A good win but much to improve on the next day.
U13 (Div6) Leixlip United 2 Firhouse 0.
Goal scorers Kayla Whelen and Ailbhe Kelly. Great performance by all the girls under the floodlights on Friday night.
U13 Major St. Mochtas 0-4 Leixlip Utd
After a slow start to our league campaign we’ve now won three on the bounce. The boys were excellent from start to finish and while Mochtas kept fighting until the end the result never looked in doubt. Aidas scored our first goal after 90 seconds as he outpaced the Mochtas CB, rounded the keeper and calmly slotted the ball into the far corner. We had several other good chances before Charlie Norman scored our 2nd with a classy lob from outside the box. The chances continued to flow and Luke was very unlucky not to steer home a great cross by Senán. Shortly afterwards Luke turned provider and stood up a delightful cross that was begging to be nodded home, unfortunately Senán didn’t get on the end of it and the HT score remained at 2 nil. Three changes at halftime didn’t disrupt our flow and we created several chances before Senán put us 3up curling a lovely shot into the far corner with his less favoured left foot. We kept turning the screw and Ben got a well deserved goal with a great strike from outside the box. A very pleasing result and performance keeps us near the top of the table.

We took a while to get into it & in a tight enough first half they took their chances & we didn’t - 2-0 at the break.
We did much better in the second half but they got a third. We finally got on the scoreboard through Cara with a nice free kick and we also hit the bar a few times. We chased it leaving ourselves vulnerable and they got their final goal.
Good to get the game & plenty to work on.
